Kid mohair and linen tape

If you're in the Woodstock area, visit my work in person on President's Day Weekend at the Byrdcliffe by Design show and sale: http://www.woodstockguild.org/the-byrdcliffe-shop/byrdcliffe-by-design

Shawl, mohair, silk, viscose and linen, rib stitch, size 11 cable needle, 24"

Using the fine mohair yarn with the rather heavy tape produces this wonderfully lacy fabric.

I envy the even tension on your stitches. My loopy-lace scarf doesn't look nearly that good.

It looks lovely—a really interesting texture. I'm wondering what it feels like to stroke! Have you knitted alternate rows? Does that mean breaking off the yarn at the end of every row?

Kai - thanks!

I think the even tension on a loosey goosey fabric like this comes from really paying attentiont to one's hands while knitting and knitting as much as possible in one sitting so that the rhythm of making the stitches becomes even and the tention is part of all that. Practice, practice, practice also allows one to gradually pay attention to tention in an even way.

Yes - I switched the yarn for each row, tying a knot at the end to attatch the alternate yarn, and I gave each knot a long tale to create a fringe along the bottom of the triangle.
