Blue and Gray Silk

Pure silk worked in seed stitch, size 7 needles, self-fringing.  There are three blue yarns and one gray yarn in this fabric.

Whites in long rows

This is a variety of fuzzy and silky yarns, mostly light weight yarns, worked on a size 10 cable  needle.

Pink and gray woven stitch

This is my third try with this yarn - it's much more complicated than it looks because it is like knitting with rubber bands and getting a good drape is difficult.

Three silk yarns: encore

Two slightly different sizes of needles make something like a subtle ruffle in the fabric.

Black and gray rib stripes

To rows of each yarn, then switch.

Ombre green/gray/orange

The green color is the middle, then the colors will reverse and the end will be the same colors as the beginning.  I love these long color changes in yarns.

Fuzzy and shiny series new entry

The light and fuzzy mohair makes them good for cooler weather.

Crochet motif scarf

My first square motif construction in crochet.  It seems over the years I've made many motifs but this is the first time I've ever put more than a couple together.

I love the huge needle.

So that's the four color combinations and I'll repeat until the scarf is 72 inches.  I'm thinking about a black border right now.

Wool and alpaca binkie

A nice bulky binkie in a very simple stitch.  I tried a complicated stitch pattern and it was lost in the fuzzy yarn. So now it's just a simple seed stitch and the bulky yarn makes it work up very quickly.

Cotton basket weave variation series

There may be  up to 15 in the series now, although I've given a few away before I remember to photograph them! They are mostly worsted weight, worked with a size 3 needle or smaller for a nice firm fabric. I included a linen one, although the linen ones are not generally in basketweave stitch.

Crochet net shawl

Requested by a friend, who already had the yarn.  I had to give it three tries to make the yarn amount work with the design I had in mind, so I'm glad filet crochet is extremely flexible!!  It looks much more sparkly and gaudy in person.

Crochet blocks from a gradient set

It has been amusing to play with the gradients and work out something that is more dynamic than static. The photo makes the holes a very strong part of the pattern due to the light background.
